Rivet Rack Customer

One day, I was performing my daily tasks as usual. One guy said "Hello" to me on trade manager. Later on he sent a profile to me.On the profile, he clearly listed the rivet rack item's details one by one:
Z beam storage rack consists of  4  uprights  2section , 10 short beams, 10 long beams and 5 panels.
(1) The panel is made of  particle board  ( thickness is 9 mm Covered )
(2)Material of Beam is δ1.2mm, Material of upright is δ0.85mm,
(3) 5 layer  Each layer holds up to 100kgs
(4) The shelf can be adjustable every 1-1/2 inches
(5) Sturdy industrial strength steel construction with power-coat finish resists rust and scratches
Also, he attached pictures of the racking he wants on the profile. I asked for the quantity, colors as well as the package. With all the details prepaid, I translated the details into Chinese and transferred it to engineer for quotation. Meanwhile, I communicated with the customer to get more information about their company as well as better understanding about him. The customer is kind and patient. After talking with him, I got to know that their company is a large importer from China. They mainly dealt with the supermarket shelving and long span warehouse shelving. Since I was just graduated from college, I still lack the experiences to solve some problems, especially the professional product knowledge. Thankfully, my colleagues are very kind to me. They are willing to teach and help me whenever I come accross any problems.I was so lucky that I have the opportunity to have their enquiry. Everything goes smoothly. The customer expressed their sincerity to cooperate with me if I could quote him the best price. Considering that the quantity was large and he was my first customer, I just intend to practise myself instead of making profits. So I quote him our best price.Although I tried myself to quote him the best price, he still feel the price high.I don't know what to do with it. I asked him their target price, he rejected to tell me.After discussion with my management, we decided to make a compromise to establish business relationship with them first at few profits.I told him that that was our bottom line. We really cannot make any profits. And I suggest him to place the order as soon as possible. Finally he agreed and send me the deposit very soon. That is generally the story of my first customer.
